Dukes' Lock Pond 14th June

Far too rainy for any decent odonata action but I did eventually manage to find a pair of Variable Damselflies roosting in the south west corner.

Amazing chance brief encounter with another Lesser Emperor, this time a mature male brought down by rain! It was on private land at SP385004.

This is south of Pit 60 and the other Standlake lakes. The previous sighting of am immature this year was to the north, near Yarnton.

Dukes Lock Pond - 9 June

A colony of Variable Damselfly at:  Dukes Lock Pond (SP 48717 10734).

This pond is about 1 mile north west of the Wolvercote Roundabout.

The Variable Damselflies were mainly on the western side of the pond especially between the pond and the railway.
